These healthy smoothie dishes star seasonal summertime fruits. Let us get blending!

Most of the year frozen fruits are the base for my healthy smoothie mix dishes, however in summer season there’s so much gorgeous, seasonal fruit readily available! It looks like a criminal offense to get a bag of frozen peaches or berries when you can strike the farmers market for the genuine bargain selected the day previously.

Finding Fruit in Season

Shopping your local famers market is the best way to find out exactly what’s seasonal, and you can adjust your healthy smoothies to accommodate what’s fresh now.

The joy of these healthy smoothie mix dishes is their flexibility. You can blend and match your ingredients to utilize exactly what’s seasonal. If the dish calls for kale, but your farmers market is rich with collards, go all out! Can not discover blackberries? Use another berry rather.

If you do not have a farmers market in your area, you can still look for fruit that’s in period now. This site has a list of seasonal food guides by state that’s very helpful. You can also look for CSAs and farmers markets making use of Regional Harvest. Maybe there’s a market or farm share that you did not learn about in your town!
